Renting motorbikes or scooters in
Bali is relatively cheap, but before you sign for one, be sure you are truly a
skilled motorbike rider. The Balinese traffic situation is complicated. The
usual rules of right-of-way are not applied by most riders, or are applied very
loosely. "Right-of-way" in practice belongs to the bigger vehicle in
any situation. Honk your horn at blind curves, because an oncoming vehicle
might be taking up the middle of the road as it looms into sight.
