Nusa Dua is known as an enclave of large international
5-star resorts. Nusa Dua means two islands (nusa 'island', dua
'two'), because there are 2 islands in bay of Bali Tourism Development
Corporation area, the two islands are located in the southern side lays is
called Peninsula Island and the northern side lays is called Nusa Dharma Island
which is smaller and it has Pura/Temple Nusa Dharma. The beaches here are
glorious - white sand, deep, long and safe for swimming. The public beach at
Geger is the best to head to if you are not staying at Nusa Dua. This is also
home to one of the best museums in Bali. The museum is nearly always empty. The
Nusa Dua enclave has three manned gates and everyone entering is subject to a
security search. This can have a slightly claustrophobic effect according to
some points of view, and in other points of view makes guests feel more secure.
While some may criticize this for creating the sense of an "artificial
location", given the prior acts of terrorism in Bali some guests do
appreciate the fact that security checks are made to enhance their safety.
LOCATION
Nusa Dua is located 40km south of Denpasar, the
provincial capital of Bali. Access is easy from the Kuta area (20-30 minutes)
and Jimbaran (15 minutes) on the main southern route called Jalan Bypass Ngurah
Rai, which becomes Jalan Bypass Nusa Dua as it approaches the enclave. And now also available Toll way access road makes easy to reach other area.

Nusa Dua Area was started and built in year
1974,as a result from study of French consultant, SCETO ( Societe Centrale pour
l'equpeent Touristique Ouetre-Mer) in the year 1970 and also feasibility study
conducted by PCI (Pacific Consultants International) year 1971-1973 for
financing of World Bank aid. The Indonesian Government has delivered this area
management to PT. BTDC (Bali Tourism Development Corporation) which existing
under the law and regulation of Republic Indonesia Government no.27 year 1972,
on 12 November 1972. This area owns the most complete tourism facilities in
Bali and Indonesia like five star hotels, luxury accommodations, villas, convention
hall, shopping center and beautiful beaches. The five star hotels exist in this
area are Club Med, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel, The Westin Resort, The Laguna Resort,
Melia Bali Villas and Spa, The Ayodya Resort, Kayu Manis Villa, Nikko Bali
Resort and Spa, The Bale Villas and Novotel Nusa Dua. There are also sports
activities spots are available in this are such as: tennis court, squash and
golf course. Each hotel is completed by five star restaurant facilities, bar,
