Batubulan Village is part of the administrative
region Sub Sukawati, Gianyar regency, Bali province, Indonesia. Gianyar Regency
is one tourist destination in the island of Bali which has a unique artistic
charm. The identity and image as an art village, Batubulan has been famous in
Indonesia and all over the world which has been built based on an artistic
blessing dance of Barong (Barong and Keris dance) & Kecak Dance. Barong
Dance & Kecak dance are daily performed at five different stages in this countryside, like
Puseh Temple Stage, Tegal Tamu Stage, Denjalan Stage, Sahadewa Stage and Sila
Budaya Stage. The name of Batubulan is etymologically taken from two word that
are: Batu and Bulan (moon stone). Pre-eminent tourism sites and especial
fascination of Batubulan Village in map of Bali Tourism are Barong Dance and
stone carving art. This Tourist destination is become more famous because
sustained by tourism fascination non-stopped expand and immeasurable. As a
tourism object and stone carving business area, Batubulan village is visited by
tourist of foreign countries and domestic since in the morning time until
evening time. At 09:00-10:30 am daily, Barong Dance is held while at
18:00-19:00 pm, the Kecak Dance or Bali Night performances are executed.
LOCATION
Batubulan Village is a strategic crossing point
between Denpasar-Gianyar City. Batubulan arguably is the most western gate of
Gianyar regency (located about 25 km west of Gianyar regency), this is an
entrance of area of eastern Denpasar. The village is quite busy because Batubulan
is the main road to go to fame Kintamani and Ubud. From Denpasar, Batubulan is
about 10 km or takes about 15 minutes by private car or public transportation
(taxi / chartered cars). Meanwhile, from Kuta Beach and Nusa Dua Areas, it
takes about 45 minutes to reach Batubulan.

Batubulan village is also well known with its
distinctive Balinese Batik handmade lace. Visitor may see how the Balinese
artists are making “Batik” in traditional way. Even though it is an art of
handmade it has super quality have been well known all over Indonesia and
around the world. This village is also famous with its daily performance of
Balinese dances such as : Kecak dance, & Barong Dance.
